Jan Wimer, DVM

With professional interests in feline medicine, Dr. Jan Wimer brought her veterinary talents to Emmitsburg Veterinary Hospital in 1998. Having grown up in McLean, VA, she attended Virginia Tech and received her BS degree in Animal Science. She graduated in 1992 having achieved deans list and membership in the Alpha Zeta Agriculture Honor Society.

Following undergraduate studies, Dr. Wimer attended Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 1998 with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Wimer is married to Mark, a cable technician, and they have a daughter, Kate, and a son, Cole. Their pets include two Australian Shepherds named Tess and Dixie; a Pomeranian named Little Dog; four cats named Captain Hook, Borris, Bella, and Leroy; and several farm animals.
